Adding Notes to the Canvas Gradebook

Canvas has a feature where you can add notes into the Gradebook- you may find this helpful for flagging students' you have given extensions to.

You can add this feature to your course gradebook by following these steps:

Click on the gear icon on the right hand side of the gradebook

and then select View Options, select "Notes":

This puts an extra column in the gradebook where you can add a note.

*Please note this feature does not carry over between course sections. You will need to activate it in each gradebook you wish to use it in.
