3. Finalize Unit Configuration Standards

Casey Shew Updated by Casey Shew

As the course design is being finalized and the technical exercises are beginning to coalesce, the Tech Lead needs to document the set of standard configurations that all Codio units will share for the series.

Instructions

Update the ITG Codio Config tab in the Charter_Starter spreadsheet for this series (see this example in the Starter_Charter template). The IDD for the project is in charge of this document and will know where it is.

  • The template likely includes more sections than you need to use for the series, it attempts to cover all potential scenarios. If a section is not relevant for your series, simply leave it blank.
  • Some of this information may not be able to be defined yet, in that case, just keep the document updated as the remaining elements are defined in the process so that you have one source of standards for the Codio config.
  • Feel free to edit this document to include new sections or reorganize it to meet the needs of the courses, it should be seen as a guide for the kinds of things needing to be defined, but doesn't need to be adhered to strictly.

Examples of Unit Standard Docs

As a lot of these concepts are quite new, looking at some examples of filled out versions of the template may be helpful in understanding what the different fields mean and how to populate them. Below are two different examples from previous series. Note these are just for educational purposes, the information is not comprehensive.
