Guidelines for Adding Faculty Honorifics

  • Faculty or lecturer with a Ph.D.: "Professor Smith"
  • Non-Ph.D.-holding faculty or lecturer: "Mr. X or Ms. Smith"
    • Use the full title in bios, like the Home page and Thank You page, but not when referring to the person in page text. Home page example: Julia Child, Visiting Associate Professor, The Hotel School, Cornell SC Johnson College of Business.
    • However, on a Watch page, it will be: "Professor Child will demonstrate..."
  • For non-faculty member and course experts in ATEs: Use the person's professional title as they provide it to you in bios and in text references. If there is no professional title, use Mr. or Ms.
