Why Am I Receiving Duplicate Canvas Emails?

If you find that you are receiving duplicates of the same email from Canvas, this is likely because notifications are turned on for both your login email (ecornell.com email address) and your default email (cornell.edu email address, which is required for proper Zoom integration).

You can edit your settings so emails will only arrive to the ecornell.com email by going to the "Notifications" menu from the left-hand navigation in Canvas:

You will then see something that looks like this:

From here, you will want to turn OFF notifications for your email ending in cornell.edu, and keep them ON for your account ending in ecornell.com.

Although we recommend having all notifications set to "notify immediately" until you are used to the system, it is required to have notifications turned on for Submissions, Discussion posts, and Direct Messages.
