Setting up Email Forwarding

Have you successfully logged into both your Outlook and Gmail email accounts? Great! (If not, the Facilitation Support team will be sending you this information within 7-10 business days of you beginning the onboarding process.

Next, we need to set up email forwarding so you can manage all communications from your Outlook (NetID/cornell.edu) email.

Log on to your Outlook (Net ID/ cornell.edu) email HERE

Go to the following page: https://outlook.office.com/mail/options/mail/forwarding

Click "Enable Forwarding" (screenshots below)

From this page, you will add your email in the following format, for example, jsmith@g.ecornell.com (“g” designates gmail account.), so that it looks similar to what is in screenshots below.

Click the "Save a copy" just so you have record that it is forwarding correctly

Click Save in the lower right.

Please note, that once you have set up your email forwarding as described above, both your Gmail and Outlook emails should flow into both inboxes. However, we strongly recommend you manage both email addresses in your Cornell.edu account, including any communications you send to Cornell University Staff. We encourage you to respond to all student communications from Canvas on the Desktop website directly (lms.ecornell.com).
