Common Login errors

Several notable errors Facilitators occur when trying to login include:

  • "403" login error on Ursus: This error occurs when you are logging in with your Net ID. Please note you must login with you ecornell.com email address to access your Ursus account and month offers.
  • Incorrect courses appearing on Canvas Dashboard: Please note to access any courses you are facilitating, FACT101, and any training shells you are assigned you must be logged in with your ecornell.com email as your username in Canvas.
If you log on with your Net ID (cornell.edu). You will only see HR-assigned trainings and courses you have enrolled in as a student.
When you need to access your "student" (Net ID), we encourage you to do one of the following to keep your multiple Canvas accounts separate:
  1. Use an Incognito tab exclusively to log in with your student account. This will ensure you remain logged in on your main browser. Steps to open an Incognito tab of Chrome can be found on this page.
  2. Use one browser (for example, Google Chrome) as the only browser you log into your main Canvas (ecornell.com) account with. When you need to access courses as a student, only do so from an entirely different browser (Firefox, Safari, etc).
  • Zoom "Instructors email is Invalid":

This error will occur when you click the "Live Sessions" page within any Canvas course if you have not yet formally activated your Zoom account. Please log into this website with your Net ID and password pair to activate (you will not need to do anything else- logging in is enough).

Once you have done so, please refresh Canvas and you should be able to see the Live Sessions listed (if created).

Facilitation Support Team can always be reached at: ec_facilitation@cornell.edu if you have any questions, concerns, or if errors persist after you have tried to troubleshoot with the guidance provided above. Please do not hesitate to reach out!
If you require assistance with your Cornell Zoom account, please reach out to the Cornell Zoom team (ways to contact them can be found on this page).
