Adding an Attempt to a Course Project

Adding an Attempt to a Course Project

For our new Course Project format (outlined in this article if you need a refresher on what these look like), you are able to add additional attempts per "Part", per student, if needed.

Please note: The following steps should only take place within the course or course extension windows.

If the student scores below 80% on any given project part, the student may request to resubmit that project part. Alternatively, you may find it most helpful to add the attempt when providing feedback, if you know they have scored below this threshold.

For the student to resubmit, you will first need to give them an additional attempt. Below are the steps you will need to take to add an additional attempt:

  1. From within the assignment in the SpeedGrader, click the "Add Attempt" button.  That will take you to the design mode for the assignment.
  1. Then, click the “Moderate” button to view a list of submissions.

  1. Click on the pencil icon next to the appropriate student submission.
  1. In the sidebar that opens up, click the up arrow under “Additional Attempts” to add one additional attempt.

Hit "Apply" to save.

This process will allow the student to retake that project part and submit it a second time.

Students will need to return to the Course Project submission page and his "Begin" if you have added a second attempt to start their revisions.

NOTE: Please refrain from clicking the "reopen" button under the Moderate tab, as this will remove all previous grading provided.
