Canvas Design and Development

  • Articles about accessibility can be found in the Knowledge Base by searching for "accessibility" or "accessible [topic here]" or by navigating the accessibility folder structure.
  • All page designs in 8675309: Master Course Template have been vetted for accessibility compliance.
  • If you are trying out new approaches or have any questions about the accessibility of your Canvas design/development practices, discuss with your IDD/manager and arrange for an accessibility review as early as possible

Creative Asset Design and Development

  • Each area within CSG — video, animation, illustration, and tools — has developed processes and templates that comply with WCAG.
  • Any standard output from those teams, by default, can be assumed to meet current accessibility standards.
  • If you are trying out new approaches or have any questions about the accessibility of your course’s creative assets, contact the appropriate area supervisor:
    • Video: David Keslick (Assistant Director, Production)
    • Illustration and Animation: Reina Martin (Assistant Director, Art & Animation)
    • Tools: Yumi Suh (Graphic Design Coordinator)

Instructional Technology

Prior to approval and integration, any technologies integrated into our learning experience undergo a thorough review and vetting process, including accessibility considerations. Contact Ted Blanchard (Manager, Instructional Technology Group) with questions about specific use cases where the accessibility of those technologies may be uncertain.

Synchronous Accommodations

An increasing number of eCornell-supported programs — including executive masters programs, Executive Education events, and more — include real-time learning, both virtual and face-to-face. Depending on the delivery format, these may require accessibility planning in additional areas beyond those outlined above, including:

  • Zoom and other virtual live platforms: Pete Garcia (Program Operations Manager, Live Events Support)
  • Non-standard course materials (e.g., PowerPoints, articles, etc.): Karen Shepherd (Director, Quality Assurance)

In the unlikely event that a member of the design/development team is contacted directly by a student regarding an accommodation request, redirect the student to eCornell’s accommodation request form. They can access that form via their registration confirmation email or the accessibility page on our website: https://ecornell.cornell.edu/about-ecornell/accessibility/
