What to Expect During Live Shadowing Experience

As you near the end of the onboarding process, the Facilitation Support Team will enroll you into a live course, led by one of our Lead Course Facilitators. Below is a list of a few things you will experience in this assignment:

  • An invitation to a pre-shadowing Live Session, exclusive to new Facilitators to help you prepare for this shadowing experience.
  • A chance to observe how an experienced facilitator sets up announcement messages, engages in discussion-boards as well as any other assignment activities.
  • An opportunity to see how our facilitators should provide gradebook comments and feedback given to students.
We do ask that, while you are shadowing this course, you do not make any changes to assignments, discussions or modules within the course as these have already been established by the Lead Facilitator. Please note you do not need to respond to any student communications copies that you will receive throughout the course.

Notes:

The live shadowing is a vital step in our onboarding process. It is required that you log into your assigned course to shadow each of the 14 days it is open, including reviewing daily participant activity, facilitation activity, and facilitation grading.

Please use the attached course observation checklist and facilitation checklist to help you through your shadowing observation.

You can find additional information on your Shadowing Experience in FACT101.
