Wrike "Custom Item Type" Definitions

Casey Shew Updated by Casey Shew

Custom Item Types are a feature in Wrike which allow us to define project “types” that have unique icons and item view layouts based on our definition. Use this article as a reference of the custom item types we have created in Wrike, as well as guidance for which custom item type to use for your project.

Multi-Output Project

Use this item type for a project that contains multiple child projects representing different outputs. The most common use for this item type is for a parent project that contains both non-credit courses and for-credit courses as part of the project’s deliverables.

For-Credit Course

Use this item type for any course that is going to be delivered on canvas.cornell.edu and/or whose audience consists of matriculated students. Masters programs supported by eCornell, or one-off ad hoc courses delivered on this Canvas instance should use this item type.

Certificate Program

Use this item type for a non-credit certificate program which will be delivered on lms.ecornell.com and/or whose audience consists of non-matriculated students. This item type should generally have multiple child projects underneath it for each short course that is inside of the program.

Short Course

Use this item type for a non-credit short course that will be delivered on lms.ecornell.com and/or whose audience consists of non-credit students. This item type is generally used for course projects that are child projects of a certificate program, but there may be exceptions to this rule.

For-Credit Rerun

Use this item type for projects relating to an eCornell-supported for-credit course, which is part of Cohort 2 or greater for that program. Refers to already-existing Masters courses being rerun subsequent to their initial instance, or other for-credit courses being run again after their initial development.

Cert Update Project

Use this item type as the parent project for an updates project for a certificate program (multiple short courses). This item type should generally have child projects for updates evaluation and updates development underneath it.

Course Update Project

Use this item type as the parent project for an updates project for a single short-course, when only one short-course is undergoing updates for a project. This item type should generally have child projects for updates evaluation and updates development underneath it.

Updates Evaluation

Use this item type for the evaluation work of a certificate or single course update project. This item type should generally be the child project of a larger updates parent project, and is usually owned and worked through by Product, unless specifically assigned to an LSG team member.

Updates Development

Use this item type for the development work component of a certificate or single course updates project. This item type should generally be the child project of a larger updates parent project.

Additional Output

Use this item type for a new output from an existing asset or set of assets.

On-Demand Only

Use this item type for a project where On-Demand lessons are being developed as a distinct and separate effort from a larger course development effort. This is often for OD lessons being created for a specific client or purpose.

Custom Program

Use this item type for a custom program developed by the Online Point Solutions team.

Custom Course

Use this item type for a custom course developed by the Online Point Solutions team.

For-Credit Group

Use this item type for a folder that contains multiple for-credit projects/courses in it. In most cases this would be a folder representing a cohort.
