On-Demand: Lesson Description and Objectives (DRAFT)

Lesson Description

The Lesson Description appears on the On-Demand Dashboard (the Marketing site where users access the lesson).

Create an OD Lesson Description

  1. Open the Expert-led course and navigate to the module your On-Demand lesson will be based on.
  2. Select and copy the module introduction text.
  3. Paste the text into the Lesson Description field in the OD tab of the CPT.
  4. Delete or revise any parts of the paragraph(s) that reference activities and content that will not be included in the OD lesson.
  5. Eliminate references to the faculty partner. Instead of, “Professor Williams will lead your through how to use spreadsheets”, change to, “You will explore how to use spreadsheets.”
  6. Change any instance of “module” to “lesson” wherever present.

Lesson Objectives

Lesson objectives will appear on the On-Demand lesson home page in Canvas. You will need 2-3 objectives for each lesson.

Create OD Lesson Objectives

  1. Open the Expert-led course and navigate to the module your OD lesson will be based on.
  2. Select and copy the paragraph of the module introduction the begins with “In this module…”.
  3. Paste the text into the Lesson Objectives field in the OD tab of the CPT.
  4. Delete the text, “In this module, you will” and make each action statement a separate statement.
Example:
Original:
Module Introduction: “In this module, you will identify your stakeholders and how their needs drive business decisions.”

Updated OD Lesson Objectives:
OD Lesson Objectives:
- Identify your stakeholders
- Identify how stakeholder needs drive business decisions
  1. Delete any objectives related to activities and content that will not be included in the OD lesson.
