(Old format) How do I grade Course Projects and Add Annotations?

Please note, this article is only relevant if your course is utilizing the "old format" for Course project; the Course Project is submitted as a Word Document at the end of a course. If you are looking for help in grading our new Course Project format, please visit this article.

To grade a project submission, enter the Gradebook for your course, click on the icon and the arrow for which assignment you would like to grade, and select the Speedgrader:

Course projects are usually a submittable file. The file will preview on the screen in the Speedgrader. You do not have to download it; you can just scroll through and review it on the screen.

Providing Feedback

There are multiple ways that you can provide feedback for this assignment.

On the toolbar, you have the option of putting annotations directly on the project

Or you can add in your assignment grading comments over to the right.

Note: If you use the annotations please also add in an assignment comment, to let the student know that you've placed your feedback on the assignment directly so that they know to go back and review them.

We do require facilitators to give individualized feedback for all course projects. To grade the project, we have the same option of Complete or Incomplete (we do not used the Excused option).

To help determine if the project should earn a Complete grade, there is a rubric loaded in each assignment.

If a student completes at least 75% of the project, you can therefore update their grade to Complete.

While in the Speedgrader and the project, in the upper right-hand corner, you can navigate from one student's project to the next by using the arrow buttons.
